Characteristics of the Elliott blueberry plant
Elliott is one of the best-known very late blueberry varieties and represents the last harvest peak of the season for many professional growers. The plant grows vigorously and upright, with sturdy branches that can bear heavy loads. Elliott is known for its high and reliable production, even in cooler conditions.
The berries are medium-sized, firm, and light blue in color. The flavor is fresh and slightly aromatic, with a good balance between sweet and sour. Thanks to its firm structure, Elliott is ideal for the fresh market, but also suitable for processing and storage. The berries retain their quality during transport, although their storage quality is slightly less than that of Liberty.
The harvest period typically runs from late August to well into September, allowing Elliott to perfectly complement varieties such as Liberty and Aurora and contribute to a broad and efficiently spread harvest season.
