We'd love to help you get started!
At Schrijnwerkers Plants, we believe that the future of blueberry starts with strong genetics. Through breeding, together with international partners, we develop new varieties that perform better under Europe's changing climate conditions.
Breeding is the process of combining the best characteristics of different plants to create new, improved varieties. This involves selecting for flavor, firmness, shelf life, color, production and winter hardiness. The goal: to develop varieties that not only taste better and yield more, but are also more resistant to extreme weather conditions.
Collaboration with leading partners
Joiners Plants works closely with, among others:
- Michigan State University
- The James Hutton Institute
- Global Plant Genetic
These collaborations give us access to the latest genetic innovations and licensed varieties. This allows us to provide our growers with an assortment that not only meets today's demands, but is also ready for the future.

Blueberry Breeding Consortium
In addition, Schrijnwerkers Plants is active within the Blueberry Breeding Consortium - an international collaboration in which knowledge, experience and research are combined to develop new varieties that perform optimally in the European climate.
Our involvement in these breeding programs allows us to offer our customers the most advanced and reliable varieties.
